sleepless ness

Apr. 17th, 2006 | 10:08 pm

don't you just hate it when you can't get enough sleep during the night. when works makes you get home at 12:30 and have to have 30min to 1hour to cool off from it to get to sleep.

now i am stuck in this pattern which i must break because i got a 5am shift on wednesday :(.

Good Friday and The Passion of the Christ

Apr. 15th, 2006 | 11:36 am

just watched that movie for the first time, i have no idea why lots of people cry through it, yes i know its based on the bible, and yes i know they made the romans really really cruel, but come one. if you take it as real then you got to learn the differences from film and real life.

Stirling Engine Fever

Apr. 14th, 2006 | 05:16 pm

After reading this blog
http://nfttu.blogspot.com/2006/04/stirling-engines-hard-to-make.html

I decided to build my own from the parts I have lying around my house, aka Lego and cans, got a air conditioning friend to give me a 1cm pipeline to connect a 2 cylinder can stirling engine together

Here’s the picture of how far I got in building it, I still need to eat the darn peaches, already drunk the cokes and waiting of the pipeline and then the happy soldering.

Here’s a close up of the connection to the drive rod, when I get it working I will extend one end so I can put someone on it. Aka a fan...

Here’s a close up of the connection from the coke cans to the Lego pistons, used rubber bands to hold it all together ;)

Ta da, another picture of the rubber bands.

The fly wheel to keep it going, don't know if it’s enough weight to keep it going, or if the friction will get it down.

Now I am waiting on my friend and the happy hole cutting and sealing  Not looking forward to that.

And then hope that it works.

holidays for kids and parents

Apr. 11th, 2006 | 11:47 am

don't you just hate it when the holidays for people don't match, atm my parents are on holidays, and my siblings are too, because the primary and high school's made their holidays start 1 week before easter not from easter. and uni is going for the from easter time.

this means i am home alone with just my brother. how awsome.

also i need to find a way to get to work at 5AM in the morning and to get back from work to home at MIDDNIGHT. now that sucks. at least i got the house to my self.

univeristy work

Apr. 9th, 2006 | 06:17 pm
mood: bitchybitchy

just finished off a 4 day take home quiz, hopefully i get over half of the marks, i don't really care atm, got other problems to sort out.

one of those problems is my brother and my dad, my dad has anoyed me to much that i limited my brothers account on wow, the reason to this is that my parents are quite worried about how much sleep my brother is getting, yesterday he was on wow from 9am and got off at 10pm. now that is a addiction if i have seen anything. hopefully he does not kill me over what i have done because its my dads fault.

another is the crappy hours i have at maccas and how i will be getting to work, at 5am in the morning, seems my parents are going to gympie tuesday morning, so i am homealone over easter and i don't know how i am going to get to work on wednesday nor get home on thursday, saturday, sunday. quite bad as i think of it.... i need the hours so i won't give the shifts away. so i might be riding to work on the push bike.

the musical

Apr. 3rd, 2006 | 11:25 am

Didn't really want to update this blog but because Lizi ;P has been sending comments to it, it has spurred me into updating it and also to say I went to Lizi's musical last Thursday, started at 7:30 and ran till about 11pm, a very good musical but I am no critic as I have not gone to a musical since year 12 which was the school music. But from my very small base of knowledge I think it was great, the crazy Ulla was very interesting. Lizi was also very very good for the part she did. The best bit I liked was when she spoke to the young one and the expression on the young ones way ;)

Might as well mention where and what the name of the play is.

It was held at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts which is just down the road from the station after central heading out.

And the name of the play is.....The Emerge Project - The Fool's Journey. A little bit of info.

Which u can also grab from http://www.ourbrisbane.com/whatson/performingarts/partners/partner_events.php?eid=78612&sd=2006-03-30&v=77&s=3,5

"Somewhere in the future, inside a bubble of air the last forest on earth is dying and nobody knows why. To save the bubble, the forest people must venture beyond the trees, and sneak into town where the feared human beings live! Can they find one capable of love, before it is too late?" would love to try and explain it from my point of view but it would take to long.

Also the only thing to make it better was if the booklets of the program was stabled and maybe have used publisher to place all items in the spot and then used Fine Print to make it booklet sized and double sided to print.

upgrading my avalibilties

Apr. 3rd, 2006 | 11:11 am

ok, now that I have red rooster out of the way I and also doing some figures on how much I am spending on things and how much I am earning it has come to my conclusions that I have to dramatically increase my work load to earn more to cover my expenses that I do have control over and expenses I don't have control over.

My availabilities as are follows.

Monday N/A because I have university and family commitments
Tuesday N/A because of university all day pretty much
Wednesday open which is 5am to 1pm because I have family commitments to look after children after 3.
Thursday open to close which is midnight
Friday open to 1pm, I have university commitments after 1.
Saturday open to close
Sunday 1pm to close, I have church in the morning.

Another rule I have put on it if I can call it that is that I can only work from 5am if it's over a 5hour long shift because I have to get to work with my dad at 3AM in the morning, and 7am is also pushing the public transport to work.

Hopefully with this set of hours open I will get between 15 and 25hours of work. I really need about 15 a week to cover all expenses but I need to start saving for a car and other items, like an Ipod Nano, my brothers present, a Sony PSP, a new computer and a laptop.

Also to add another thing about going to work, if I catch a cab, it costs $18 to get there which is about 2 hours of pay.

William.

p.s. I have also started to make a rubber ball from rubber bands and at it is 2cm smaller than a tennis ball I will stop when it is a big as a tennis ball and start another because my mum just gave me another 500g bag of bands from the paper run job she had when she was on long service leave.
